Target stores such as the one in Bloomington, IL has already started the transformation by moving their apparel items closer to the entrance of the store. The remodel in stores hopes to bring in more consumers who want to shop for apparel. With news of trying to appeal to new consumers and wanting to switch up brands, as of November 5 Target will carry Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaine's home goods line! Cat&Jack for the Win

The Cat&Jack line sold at Target is causing a stir online! A positive one at that. The collection is receiving a lot of appraisal for their stylish clothes aimed at toddlers. Cat&Jack is exclusively sold at Target which gives Target competitive advantage since Target is the only retailer that sells Cat&Jack. Through the website, Hootsuite, we were able to stream the hashtag #Cat&Jack on Twitter as the platform. Most of the posts were buyers' children wearing the clothes allowing their followers to know what brand the clothes are and where the purchase was made. A handful of tweets were pictures of Cat&Jack's winter gear as well as holiday clothing such as santa suits and red and white dresses aimed for Christmas. Although, it is a bit early to start thinking about Christmas many Cat&Jack fans expressed their excitement in buying the holiday themed items. It seems like most buyers are very content with their purchases from Cat&Jack. There were only

Target Goes Gender Neutral

Image
Target has decided to be innovative and one of the first top retailers to add this category in their retail division. After dropping Mossimo and Merona, Target has decided to promote and sell gender-neutral clothes, meaning both genders can wear it with no confusion of it being of a certain sex. The company they partnered with Toca Boca who design items with inclusivity being a priority. Target is targeting a market that is underrepresented which is a great strategy but has also brought unwanted attention from consumers who do not agree with beliefs of "no gender." Target did a great job with this and definitely received a lot of publicity from it. We hope these gender neutral clothes will sell successfully.
Brand History The founder of Target, George Draper Dayton, founded Dayton Dry Goods Company- in 1902 after deciding to explore the Midwest market. 1962 Dayton is re-branded as Target, being one of the first “discount stores” in Minneapolis and the rest of the Midwest. Target was able to implement fashion, quality and service all while allowing for discounted prices making it to be one of the most recognizable companies in the US. Transition Target will be going through a transition to increase foot and web traffic using analytics. Stores are being put out of the market due to the heavy influx of consumers going online for their shopping. The convenience of online shopping is drawing out consumers from the typical department stores making it difficult for retailers to stay afloat. We will be updating consumers weekly through a blog post about Target. Stay tuned for what's to come!
