Brand History
The founder of Target, George Draper Dayton, founded Dayton Dry Goods Company- in 1902 after deciding to explore the Midwest market. 1962 Dayton is re-branded as Target, being one of the first “discount stores” in Minneapolis and the rest of the Midwest. Target was able to implement fashion, quality and service all while allowing for discounted prices making it to be one of the most recognizable companies in the US.

Transition

Target will be going through a transition to increase foot and web traffic using analytics. Stores are being put out of the market due to the heavy influx of consumers going online for their shopping. The convenience of online shopping is drawing out consumers from the typical department stores making it difficult for retailers to stay afloat. We will be updating consumers weekly through a blog post about Target. Stay tuned for what's to come!
